Food, Drinks, and Rock and Roll

62 Main Street

We all know that finding a good vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free restaurant is not the easiest of tasks.  Most of the time your stuck eating a few leaves you found outside the restaurant because the menu doesn't have anything else for you to eat.

LUCKILY! The hippy town of New Paltz, New York heard your cries of hunger and desperation and created a restaurant so vegan friendly and so amazingly tasty you wont ever eat leaves again!

Not only is the food amazing in this joint, but the decor is what really keeps you entertained.

even bar stools with electric guitars as backs!        The decor in this place will keep you talking and
entertained throughout your entire meal.

When me and my roommate finally looked past all of the awesome scenery, we got to the menu.  It was just as fun as the decor.  With names like "Joplin's Penne Rose" and "Hey Jude" it was hard to make a decision.  Everything on it sounded amazing and it was hard to only choose one.  (So we didn't!) Instead we both ordered an appetizer, a main dish and dessert. (we went all out)

I got the baked mac n' cheese (8), which was covered in melted cheddar cheese and even had a splash of peppers that made my taste buds sing.

My roommate got the three bean chili with vegetables (7).  She said it was in her top three chili dishes, which is big because shes always said that her mom makes the best chili; now there is something else in the running for that.

After licking our plates clean, we moved on to the next dish.  Mine was "The Ballad of Garlic and Herb" (9).  This dish was loaded with plump tomatoes and green onions, tossed with perfectly cooked angel hair pasta in a light white wine and butter sauce.  Probably one of the best tasting pasta dishes I've ever had.

My roommates dish made me jealous that i didnt order it myself.  She ordered the "Stairway to Heaven" which is exactly what it tasted like, a little piece of heaven.  With sauteed tomatoes, onions, red peppers, artichoke hearts, fennel and pineapple humming along with broccoli and chicken in a light alfredo sauce.  Without a doubt getting this the next time i go there!

Next came dessert, which was the best way to end this incredibly delicious meal.  We shared a slice of tye-dye cheesecake.  UNBELIEVABLE! Not only was it fun to look at, it was so light and fluffy that we were fighting over who could have the last bite; I won :)!

Okay, okay, moving on from the mouth watering dishes above.  My overall experience at Rock da Pasta was...okay.  The service was a little slow and the waitress wasn't too friendly.  BUT, the food made up for it, all the dishes were worth the wait and worth the attitude.

To all of you broke college students out there, Rock da Pasta isn't as affordable as Fat Bobs but, it is definitely a place for you to bring your parents when they come to visit. (so they can pay)
